Welcome
Hello, my name is Julie Elston and I welcome you to my website.
I am a registered and accredited therapist (MBACP) and a Member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).
I am a passionate, creative and value led integrative therapist who creates environments where a person's needs can be sensitively met whilst providing confidentiality and remaining non-judgemental.
I provide counselling and therapeutic services to adults, children and young people. I am committed to a total quality of care where people are actively involved in the counselling they receive and are encouraged to explore and resolve their concerns.
Experience
I am a recognised therapist for a number of local authorities, BUPA and Health Assured. I am also an approved therapist for the PFOA (Police Firearms Officers Association) providing counselling to officers and their families.
I have a breadth of experience of providing therapy in a range of settings including my own private practice, family homes, local community centres, schools, colleges, drug and alcohol centres and children’s homes.
I have extensive experience of counselling young people and staff working within the adoption, fostering and residential child care sector. I provide life story work for children who are moving to or have been placed in permanent settings including adoption, Special Guardianship and Kinship Care for London Boroughs. I have provided services for schools offering counselling and advice on social, emotional and behavioural issues faced by children and young people.
I hold an enhanced DBS Disclosure Certificate. The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enables people to know that I have been independently checked as being a safe person to work with vulnerable groups including children. For more information please visit the DBS website.
